Deputy Governor of Anambra state, Mr Nkem Okeke has charged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in the state to update its data capturing machines during the forthcoming governorship election in the state as well as ensure that voting materials arrive polling booths early enough to ensure a smooth exercise.
Okeke who gave the charge at a stakeholders’ meeting organized by INEC in Awka, yesterday, said INEC should equally release the new voters cards to their owners on time to enable them use the cards to cast their votes. He therefore appealed to security agencies to ensure adequate security and orderliness during the election, insisting that the state expects the election to be peaceful and transparent devoid of rancour.
