Trump forces White House Spokesman to resign after naming new official
Sean Spicer the White House Spokesman has been forced to step down after President Donald Trump appointed Anthony Scaramucci as his new communications director.
Reports say White House press secretary, Spicer resigned his position in opposition to Trump naming Wall Street financier, Scaramucci as his top communications official- a move he sees as duplication of effort.

However, in his post on Twitter after the new appointment, Spicer said he was stepping down to give Scaramucci a fresh start.
He said he felt it would be best for Scaramucci to be able to build his own operation “and chart a new way forward”. The White House was at a point where Trump “could benefit from a clean slate”, he added.
Spicer who also said he would continue his service through August will now be replaced by Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the deputy press secretary, when he eventually steps down.
